DRSABCD is the rapid sequence you use to identify and manage a potentially life‑threatening situation from the moment you find someone in trouble. It should be started immediately because every second matters when dealing with unconsciousness or breathing problems. You begin by checking for danger to you and the casualty, then assess if the person is responsive. If there’s no response, you call for help right away. Next, you open the airway and check breathing, and if they’re not breathing normally, you start CPR. If a defibrillator is available, you use it as soon as you can following the prompts. Delaying these steps can allow a life-threatening condition to worsen, so the whole process is begun without waiting.
